This is an A.P.S. (American Philatelic Society) 2011 Digital reprint of the original 1910 book, Plates of the Stamps of Japan by F.J. Peplow. 261 pages. The DVD has PDF, 300 + 600 d.p.i. images of the original plates of most of the Dragon & Cherry Blossom issues. A "must buy" to view specific detail on-screen. Certain plates not in this book are included in the A. M. Tracey Woodward book.

The Postage Stamps of Japan and Dependencies by A. M. Tracey Woodward. 1976 one-volume reprint in English, approximately 800 pages. Larger type than the original two-volume issue. Excellent reference guide for Dragons & Cherry Blossoms. Also covered, in less detail are early Commemoratives, Formosa & Korea Issues.

220 pages covering all Dragon issues in detail. The best  publication for detailed study of these issues. Many photos and hand-drawn illustrations. Inside the rear cover there are 11 glossy photos of different dragon plates. Difficult to obtain.

Probably not enough English for general use but an excellent detailed guide to all issues within period covered. Categories sub-divided by type (Commemoratives, Regular, National Parks, etc.) and then chronologically within sub-groups. B/W images. Includes Postal Stationery.

Japan Duty Stamp Catalogue by Koichi Furuya. Re-issued periodically every few years. 136+ pages In Japanese - No English. Excellent guide with high quality colour images of a variety of Duty stamp types.

Linns annual publication Vol. 4 which includes Japan. In English. Approximately 120+ pages for Japan section. Possibly best known and most utilized catalogue for Japanese stamps outside of Japan. Prices on eBay tend to roughly follow the published prices. Simple reference guide in chronological order with no sub-division by type as found in Japanese stamp catalogues. Colour images. No coverage of Postal Stationery or other categories.
