Philately is a pursuit which has declined within a modern technological environment as newer generations are less interested in non-computer based activities. Traditional philatelic clubs issue some form of printed magazine on a periodical basis, mailed to members. There is a comfort zone in this approach in that certain individuals produce the vast majority of the articles and members read and/or place on a bookshelf. The internet is mainly ignored or resisted as the primary information hub, albeit that most members have access to adequate speed e-mail and internet services.
